How to use

  1. Choose a test length from 1 to 100 seconds.
  2. Right-click the box with your mouse. The first right click starts the timer and counts as one.
  3. Keep right-clicking until the time is up. The usual context menu is blocked inside the box.
  4. Read your CPS, your rank and the per-second chart, then try again.

How it works

Right click CPS = right clicks / test length in seconds, rounded to two decimals.

Only presses of the secondary mouse button are counted. Left clicks do nothing here.

On a touch screen there is no right button, so taps are counted instead. Use a mouse or a trackpad with a two-finger click for a meaningful result.

Why the right button is slower for most people

Most people click with the index finger on the left button all day, so that finger is trained and the middle finger on the right button is not. Expect a right button score about 1 to 2 CPS below your left button score until you practice.

When right click speed matters

  • Games that put an attack, block or place action on the secondary button, such as sandbox and shooter games.
  • Trackpads with a two-finger or corner right click, where timing differs from a physical button.
  • Checking that the right switch of a new mouse does not feel weaker than the left.

Getting more out of the right button

  • Rest the middle finger lightly on the button so it travels less before the switch fires.
  • Try a claw or palm grip; the best grip is the one that keeps the finger straight above the switch.
  • Stop when the finger aches. Pushing through pain in a long test is not worth a better score.

FAQ

Why is the context menu blocked in the box?

A right click normally opens the browser menu, which would cover the test. The menu is turned off inside the box only and works as usual everywhere else.

Does the left button count here?

No. Only the right mouse button counts. Use the click speed test for the left button.

Can I test on a laptop trackpad?

Yes, if your trackpad has a right click zone or a two-finger click. The score reflects that gesture, which is usually slower than a physical right button.

Is my best score saved?

In your browser only, separately for each length. Clearing site data removes it.
