How to use

  1. Pick Buyer pays to see what you receive, or You receive to see the price to list.
  2. Enter the amount in your wallet currency, for example 1.00.
  3. Keep the game fee at 10% unless the game uses another value. The Steam and game fee amounts are shown.

How it works

Steam fee = 5% of what you receive and game fee = 10% (set per game) of what you receive. Each is rounded down to a whole cent and is at least 1 cent. The buyer pays your amount plus both fees.

Going the other way, the calculator finds the largest amount you can receive without the buyer paying more than the price entered. This is the same rounding Steam's own market page applies when you type a price.

Because of the rounding, a buyer price and its payout are not exactly 15% apart on small items. For example, 1.00 paid leaves 0.88 for the seller.

FAQ

What is the total Steam Market fee?

Usually 15% of what you receive on top: 5% Steam transaction fee plus 10% game fee. The percentage fee is rounded to whole cents with a 1 cent minimum each, which matters on cheap items.

Is the game fee always 10%?

Most games use 10%, but the game developer sets it. Change the game fee field if the item you are selling uses a different value.

Why does the buyer price not match exactly?

Buyer prices that do not correspond to a whole cent payout are rounded down for you, so the buyer may pay a cent less than you typed. The tool shows the exact buyer price when it differs.

Which currencies does it cover?

It works in the smallest unit of two-decimal currencies such as USD and EUR. Currencies with other minimum units may round differently on Steam.
