Etsy Fee Calculator

Etsy takes $3.78 from a $30.00 item with $5.00 shipping (rates as of 2026-10-16): $0.20 listing, 6.5% transaction fee on item plus shipping, and 3% + $0.25 payment processing. With $8.00 item cost and $5.00 postage you keep $18.22 profit (52.06% margin); if it is an Offsite Ads sale at 15%, fees rise to $9.03. To net $10.00 on that order, price the item at $20.91.

How to use

  1. Choose From selling price to see fees and profit, or From target profit to find the item price to list.
  2. Enter the item price, the shipping you charge the buyer, your item cost and your real shipping cost. Add the sales tax rate if Etsy collects it for you.
  3. Set Offsite Ads to 15% or 12% only for orders that came from those ads, and untick the listing fee if the listing is already paid for.

How it works

Listing fee = 0.20 per listing, charged when it is created or renewed (every four months, or after a sale). Transaction fee = 6.5% × (item price + shipping + gift wrap), not applied to sales tax for US sellers.

Payment processing = 3% × order total (including sales tax) + 0.25. Offsite Ads fee = 15% (or 12%) × (item price + shipping), only on orders from those ads.

Profit = item price + shipping - fees - item cost - your shipping cost. Margin = profit / (item price + shipping) × 100. Each fee is rounded to the cent.

Example: 35.00 × 6.5% = 2.28, 35.00 × 3% + 0.25 = 1.30, plus 0.20 listing = 3.78 in fees, leaving 31.22 before costs.

FAQ

How much does Etsy take from a $30 sale?

With $5.00 shipping charged, Etsy takes $3.78: $0.20 listing, $2.28 transaction fee and $1.30 payment processing. That is about 10.8% of the $35.00 the buyer pays.

Does Etsy charge the transaction fee on shipping?

Yes. The 6.5% applies to the item price, the shipping price you charge and gift wrapping. For US sellers it does not apply to sales tax.

When does the Offsite Ads fee apply?

Only when a buyer clicks one of Etsy's offsite ads and buys within the attribution window. It is 15% for most shops and 12% for shops above Etsy's yearly sales level. Leave it off for organic sales.

Do I pay the listing fee again after a sale?

Yes. A listing renews for another $0.20 after a sale, or every four months if it does not sell. For a multi-quantity listing that is a small cost spread over several orders.

How do I find the price that gives me a set profit?

Switch to From target profit, enter the profit you want per order, your costs and the shipping you charge. The tool finds the lowest item price that reaches it.
