Small Text Generator
"Hello World" in small caps is ʜᴇʟʟᴏ ᴡᴏʀʟᴅ, and in tiny superscript it is ʰᵉˡˡᵒ ʷᵒʳˡᵈ. Superscript covers 25 of 26 letters (no q), subscript only 17.
How to use
- Type or paste your text. All three styles update as you type.
- Check the note under each result. It lists any letters that have no tiny version and were left at normal size.
- Press Copy on the style you want and paste it into a bio, caption, username or chat.
How it works
These are not a font size. Unicode has separate characters for small capital letters (ᴀ ʙ ᴄ), superscript letters (ᵃ ᵇ ᶜ) and subscript letters (ₐ ₑ ₒ). The tool swaps each letter for its tiny twin, so the result is plain text that works anywhere text works.
Coverage differs by style. Small caps has every letter except x, which looks the same as a normal x (q uses the nearest match, ǫ). Superscript has every letter except q, plus all digits. Subscript only has 17 letters (a e h i j k l m n o p r s t u v x) and the digits.
Letters with no tiny twin stay at normal size and are listed under the result. Uppercase letters are folded to lowercase first, because Unicode has no separate tiny capitals for superscript and subscript.
Which style to use
| Style | Looks like | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Small caps | ʜᴇʟʟᴏ | Bios, headings, a soft all-caps look |
| Superscript | ʰᵉˡˡᵒ | Tiny text, footnote marks, exponents (x²) |
| Subscript | ₕₑₗₗₒ | Chemical formulas (H₂O), math indices |
Where it works and where it does not
- Most social apps, chats and bios accept these characters, since they are normal Unicode text.
- Usernames and handles often allow only basic letters and digits, so the styled version may be rejected.
- Rare symbols can show as empty boxes on older phones and in some fonts. Small caps and superscript are the safest.
- Screen readers may skip the characters or read them as unusual symbols, and search will not match them to normal words. Use them for decoration, never for important information.
FAQ
Is this the same as making text smaller?
No. Font size cannot be set in most bios and chats, so tiny text uses different characters that are drawn small. The result is still text and can be pasted anywhere.
Why did some letters stay normal size?
Unicode never added a small version for every letter. Superscript is missing q, subscript is missing b c d f g q w y z, and small caps has no separate x. Those letters are listed under the result.
What does Keep capitals do?
With it on, uppercase letters stay full size and only lowercase letters become small caps. This gives the common look of a large first letter followed by small capitals.
Can I write H2O or x2 with this?
Yes. Digits work in superscript and subscript, so x squared is ˣ² and water is H₂O. For H₂O, type the H and O yourself and paste only the subscript 2 between them.
Is it accessible?
Not really. Screen readers often skip these characters or read their Unicode names, and search engines do not treat them as the normal word. Use them for short decoration only.
