Rotate PDF
Rotating a PDF page turns it by 90, 180 or 270 degrees by changing the page rotation value, so text and images are not recompressed. Files up to 50 MB, and nothing is uploaded.
How to use
- Drop a PDF onto the box, or press it to choose a file (up to 50 MB). A thumbnail of every page appears.
- Press the turn left or turn right button under a page to rotate just that page. The buttons above the pages rotate all pages at once. Rotated pages are highlighted, and Reset undoes every turn.
- Press Save rotated PDF, then Download. Pages you did not touch stay exactly as they were.
How it works
Every PDF page carries a rotation value of 0, 90, 180 or 270 degrees. Rotating a page adds your turn to that value (90 plus 90 gives 180), so four right turns bring a page back to where it started.
The tool changes only that value. Text, images and links are not redrawn or recompressed, so quality and file size stay almost the same and text remains selectable.
Page thumbnails are drawn with pdf.js and the new file is written with pdf-lib. Both are downloaded only when you choose a file, and both run in your browser. Your document is never sent to a server.
FAQ
Is my PDF uploaded?
No. The file is read and rewritten in this browser tab. There is no upload, no account and no copy kept anywhere else.
Does rotating lower the quality?
No. Only the page rotation value changes. The page content is copied as it is.
Can I rotate only some pages?
Yes. Each page has its own buttons. Rotate the pages you want, leave the rest alone and save.
Why does it say the file is password protected?
The PDF is encrypted, so it cannot be opened without its password. Open it in a PDF viewer, remove the password (save or print to a new PDF), then add that copy here.
Will the new orientation show in every viewer?
Yes. The rotation is stored in the file itself, so browsers, phones, Acrobat and printers all show the same orientation.
