How to use

  1. Open the Draw tab and sign inside the box with a finger, a stylus or the mouse. Undo removes the last stroke and Clear starts over. Choose an ink color and a pen thickness.
  2. Or open the Type tab, type your name and pick one of the four handwriting styles. The preview below the box shows exactly what will be saved.
  3. Press Download PNG. The picture is trimmed to the signature with a small margin and has a transparent background. Tick the white background box if you need a solid white one.

How it works

A drawn signature is recorded as the path of your pen and drawn smoothly as curves in a canvas three times larger than the box, so the saved picture stays sharp. Empty space around it is cut away automatically.

A typed signature is your name set in a handwriting font and drawn on a transparent canvas. The four fonts are Dancing Script, Caveat, Homemade Apple and La Belle Aurore, and they cover Latin letters only. For other scripts, draw it.

The picture is at most 1200 pixels wide, which is plenty for a document, and it is a PNG so the background stays transparent. Nothing is sent to a server. The handwriting fonts load only when you open the Type tab.

FAQ

Is my signature uploaded?

No. It is drawn and saved in this browser tab. There is no upload, no account and no copy kept anywhere else. It is gone when you close the page.

Can I put the signature on a PDF or Word file?

Yes. A transparent PNG can be placed on top of any document. To add it to a PDF here, use the Sign PDF tool, which has the same drawing and typing options.

Is a signature like this legally binding?

It is a picture of your signature, which many everyday forms and agreements accept. It is not a certified digital signature with a certificate. If a process requires one, use the signing service that asks for it.

Why does my name look different on my phone?

It should not. The handwriting fonts are loaded with the page, so every device draws the same shapes. If the typed preview looks plain, wait a moment for the fonts to load, or use Draw.
